We finally went to the muslim restaurant,Nisa Restaurant, owned by Mr Ben Taat and we had the honour of him greeting us while we were eating. A very nice bald guy. Food was delicious as expected. Finally got to eat my nasi goreng. It was an OMG moment when the food arrived. After eating, we went to the night market and got some stuff for ourselves. DAMN CHEAP i tell you. I love it there. Its 1km long. They have alot of crumpler bags. wooo. Gonna get some for the loved ones in Singapore.

On Sunday is our science class with EMS7\103. They were really attentive and smart. Really. The students evaluated us on paper and their comments were all positive. :) Happy or what? Can apply NIE already. haha. Because of this, we'll be teaching them again on this coming Wednesday. Need to prepare for their lesson and my microsoft powerpoint, expired a few hours ago. Thanks eh. Unless the download completes by tomorrow, I have to come up with another alternative. Maybe just use the whiteboard?  -________________-''

SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE

New found friend. His name is Diep. Contact2 ira. hahaha. Will be meeting him again next week i think cause he wants to bring us around Hoan Kiem.

SUNDAY - EMS7\103 SCIENCE CLASS

Fyi, the one with specs and in orange and black polo on the right is not a student. He is Seamous, our supervisor and our class observer of the day. He blends in. I know.

This boy wanted to show me a magic trick. He has a strange voice and he suddenly came up to me saying..'PICK A CARD!'. In the end his magic was a failure. He couldn't guess what card I've picked. Member confident. 'This is really your card!! Don't lie to me!'.   -_-

Making Cofeeeeeee

Class observation with Loewida went off pretty well. Though I guess we assisted more than we observed. The kids were damn playful but apparently it was ok for Loewida. Overall, I had fun and I think she handles the class quite well considering that it's the most rabak class of the whole rvcentre.

This is Quoc Anh. I think he is the funniest boy in the class. I keep shouting the answers to him and he would write it down quickly.

The 'Can I have your number?' group.

I was so surprised to see this. Only 14 years old and already learning about programming.

Talking to samseng kampung. Mcm gangster sia this guy. Did not take off his bag throughout the whole lesson. And he only knows how to copy.

See. I caught him red-handed. He was like, 'OH MY GOD'.

Buat keje taknak. Amik gambar nak. haha. They are really nice boys. From left: Nguyen, Quoch Anh and Hong Hai.

THATS ALL FROM EMS8\101!

2 weeks!!

We are now feeling the stress! Everyday is work, work and work for us. Assignments that are done have been fowarded to Seamous by email. All that is left is tomorrow's class observation with EMS8\103 science class with Ms Loewida, and lesson preparation for EMS7\101 science class this coming Sunday. We're gonna teach Secondary 1 students and Seamous will be sitting in to observe our teaching. Very nerve-wrecking but we'll do our best. I think I'm gonna do it in powerpoint form and find some videos on the methods of separating mixtures. Gonna make the lesson as easy and interesting as possible.Which means our off day would be on Saturday instead. We also have to prepare our teacher evaluation forms and familiarise ourselves on how to conduct interviews with the students. Now I'm sitting in the library all by myself, literally giving this (-_-) face.I dont know where to begin, I'm so bored and I just want to go home and eat ayam lemak chilli padi which I will definitely ask my grandma to cook for me when I get back to Singapore.

We miss home. :( We miss our Singaporean food. :(

Last night, I googled for Malaysian food and found one located in the Ba Dinh district. Lucky for us, we are in the Dong Da district which is nearby. So will be going there on Saturday hopefully together with the other team. I've had enough of instant noodles sia. WE NEEEEED TO EAT PROPER FOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. Fizah's package still hasn't arrive because stupid Fedex is asking for so much documents. 'Snail' has been helping us alot by calling fedex. But fedex won't budge. They need Fizah's arrival and departure documents which is with Miss Phuong and she is in Saigon til Thursday. All we have to do now, is wait.

Oh ya, one more thing. Its been two weeks since we've been here. I found out, that all the while, we've been sharing the house with rats. (o_O)

Day 11: Post number 2

Sun, 04/11/2010 - 8:50AM by Faeza 0 Comments - 2 Views

Our temporary house for the whole 2 months.

Below are the pictures I took while Astuty and me went out just now.

Vietnam can be a little bit vulgar at times.

Our regular order. Fish burger and Cheese Sticks.

I didn't like those John Lennon shades at all. Just wore it for fun.

Well thats all I have so far. Had a great time window shopping with As. Got me some eyeshadows from a makeup store.

145,000 ONLY!!  Need to get more as presents.

Lots of love from Hanoi

Day 11

Sun, 04/11/2010 - 1:01AM by Faeza 0 Comments - 3 Views

I hate the fact that we are somehow being forgotten at the centre. -_- There's just so many 'workers' around doing nothing and sleeping on the sofa, talking to one another that somehow I feel I can even compare the centre to a coffee shop. All we need is an actual job. Its very irritating to always have to wait for an assignment and when we are done with it, everyone seems to be busy to even check it out.

I remembered the first day we arrived in Vietnam, we were told to attend an NTU seminar at a hotel. The seminar was held yesterday. No one informed us on anything. We felt so left out. But always look on the bright side of things, we have more time to ourselves.

Last night was the worst night ever for me. I had stomach cramps and major headaches. Major because I could literally see the world around me spinning. Whatever I had for dinner a few minutes back all went down the drain. I swear, It was so painful I felt like dying. My family called and told me to go online cause they wanna have a webcam session. I was feeling so sick but at the same time I really wanna see them. So i went online and I finally get to see their faces. It all didnt last very long cause mum could see I was in pain and told me to sleep. Shafiq said 'tqke(take) cqre(care) kak ijah'  and I almost felt like crying. He has never ever said that to me and I could feel that he misses me.I promised them that I would be online tonight. At this point of time, I was still in pain. I took in one panadol extra from As and soon fell asleep. Woke up around 12 midnight and I felt slightly better. I couldnt sleep the rest of the night up til 4 am in the morning. Heard alot of noises downstairs. As if someone was cleaning the kitchen or something. Turned out to be Kok who went up to his room around 3.45am. Berani or what.

So As and me will be going to Parkson later. Will have our dinner at Lotteria. We wanna see our Ray Ban glasses. I wanna get one. But that will have to wait til at least the end of the month.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOO HOME SICK.

Barry is the grandpa of the house

Work, work, work. I am now mentally tired. I finally went to sleep early last night because there was nothing much to do at home. Today, we have to complete alot of things for Miss Phoung and it's safe to say that we are half-way done. Gotta get everything printed and settled by this Saturday. Printing is so expensive here. In Singapore, its only 5cents or 10 cents maximum per paper. Here, its almost $2 per paper!!

I am so looking foward to meeting the other 3 girls at Mydinh(mee-din) not (my -din) and it's our turn to go to their centre. Their plan is to take us to a body and foot massage. But, I'm not really interested in that.I JUST WANT TO TAKE A DAY OFF AND SLEEP. hehe.

The girls are calling me an elephant because I make so much noise when I go down the staircase. Sorry ah kaki aku mmg bising ah. Korg pon tau aku pakai slipper mcm mane kan.
